First, our name. The Future Mrs Blue. It’s a direct nod to one of our founder’s favorite authors, Paul Auster, and the second book in his New York Trilogy, Ghosts.

The future Mrs Blue in Auster’s story is a tragic path not taken. The character Blue is so consumed by his mission that he let’s his future with her dissolve into an unrealized fantasy. We feel every story has the same potential to be elevated or to die in an author’s imagination.

We want to save as many as we can.

Every story we publish is also recorded for our podcast, read aloud and released alongside the printed edition. We think good voice on the page tends to have good voice out loud too, and we want to give these stories a second life in sound.

We publish new and established writers alike. We're less interested in your credentials than in what you sent us.
